Thursday, November 20th, 2008

If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!

I have found a really great site called PayPerPost and it knocks all the other review sites out of the water. All you need to do is sign up for a free account and once your blog is approved you can start reviewing other sites and getting paid.

You can choose which opportunities you want to accept and there are opportunities to blog even if you have a 0 PR blog. If you sign up by clicking the link below you can get paid $7.50 just for reviewing this site on your blog!

You can choose how much you want to charge, although this will probably depend on the quality of your website/blog. There are new opportunities all the time and you can view them all in your account.

It is also a good way to create buzz about your site and get backlinks. Contextual links to your site are much more valuable than text links and banners.

Time to Eat My BlackHat

Wednesday, November 12th, 2008

You may have read my previous post on blackhat seo techniques called “say no to blackhat methods“, well thanks to the forum blackhatworld I have changed my mind. Sure it is probably not a good idea to use blackhat techniques on your main websites (that you may have put many hours into), as you may lose your Google index altogether, but for short term money making projects you can’t beat it.

I have spent many hours reading some of the info on blackhatworld on making money and there are some really great ideas. Don’t worry I won’t be scamming anyone (except for maybe those who scammed me) but making money from my efforts is a high priority. The thing is I am frustrated. All the whitehat methods I try simply don’t work. See my post “should I go bankrupt“, so this is how I ended up at blackhatworld. The forum members are so helpful and nearly all the advice is free. In fact most members advice you not to invest any money in anything until you have built up an income from some of the free methods.

So it is time to stop reading and start doing. There are so many ideas it is hard to know where to start, so just pick something and get going. Many of the forum posters are incredibly experienced and very helpful. These are people who are making a lot of money every day.

I know many people won’t agree with me, but I feel like I have been ripped off so much and now it is time to take something back.

I got a disgusting comment from someone today who basically told me to die and that he wished I would drown in debt, well do you know what Brice? You have inspired me to take action. Whilst you are posting evil comments on people’s blogs and websites I will be making money. See you in hell!

Get Google Traffic - Daily Plan

Thursday, November 6th, 2008

So you’ve found your niche and started a really good blog. The next step is to get indexed by Google and try and rank highly for your chosen key words. At first this task can seem overwhelming. Basically you need quality backlinks and good content to get ranked highly and get lots of organic traffic (the best kind). Do not pay for black hat services that get you loads of links all at once as they are often poor quality and Google may think you are spamming and ban you all together. Slow and steady wins the Google race and it doesn’t even have to be that slow.

The first step is to register with Google Alerts at http://www.google.com/alerts. Enter your website URL in the search term box and your email address and create a new alert. You can choose to get emailed once a day, once a week or as it happens. This will enable you to monitor how long it takes to get various pages indexed and how many backlinks are created ot your site. You can cancel this service whenever you like.

Here is a daily plan you can follow to build backlinks and organic search traffic, resulting in more sales for you.

  1. Write at least 1 new post every day. Make sure your content is original and of quality. You can use a tool such as Nichebot to seek out topics in your niche that have low competition. These posts will get indexed very quickly.
  2. Write an article on your most recent blog topic on http://www.ezinearticles.com and link to your blog post. If your post is newsworthy you can also submit a free press release at ezinearticles.
  3. Add your new page/blog post to 5 social bookmarking sites with tags to suit your keywords. These will be indexed very quickly and are often high page rank.
  4. Write 5 forum posts in forums in your niche. Make sure your comments are valid and not spam. Add your link as your signature.
  5. Register with Yahoo Answers at http://answers.yahoo.com/ for free. Seek out questions in your niche and answer them. Include your link in the source box. Make sure your answers are thoughtful and useful.
  6. Leave comments on 5 do follow blogs. Again, make sure you leave good comments, not spam. There will be a place for you to add your URL. http://www.inlineseo.com/dofollowdiver/ is a dofollow search engine where all the blogs indexed are dofollow.
  7. Register your site with at least one directory.
  8. Write 2 classified ads to your new post/page or your main site.
  9. Create a Squidoo page at http://www.squidoo.com on the topic of your last post and link back to your site/page/post. Squidoo pages are very easy to create and get indexed quickly.
  10. Email one blogger in your niche and request to exchange links in your blogroll.

If you follow some or all of these steps daily, you will find that your blog will be inundated with quality Google traffic in no time. Remember more organic search engine traffic means more sales and advertising commissions for you. What you get out will directly depend on the amount of work you put in.

Internet Marketing Sucks

Monday, October 27th, 2008

When I was doing some research for this blog I happened across a really funny site called Internet Marketing Sucks. If you are sick to death of scams and people trying to sell you stuff, that is totally useless you should really head over there and check it out.

I love this post which satires blogrush. It is hilarious and also made me think whether I really want Blogrush on my blog.

Although every post is filled with satire and makes me laugh out loud, it also includes some very valid points about various scams and marketing schemes. I am going to spend some time reading through. This is also a dofollow blog, so if you want a quality backlink, just leave a quality comment. The funniest thing is reading the comments people leave. Some of them just don’t get the joke and respond seriously - I love it.

“Internet Gurus” better watch out. They are about to be Roasted.

Get Traffic From Yahoo Answers

Monday, October 27th, 2008

If you are a fellow blogger, I am sure you are always on the look out for ways to increase traffic to your site. By increasing quality traffic you are more likely to make sales and collect ad revenue.

Yahoo Answers is a really good way to get free, quality traffic. All you need to do is to create a free account and search for questions in your niche. You can then answer the questions and include your website/affiliate link in the source box.

Now it should be noted that Yahoo Answers is harsh on spammers, as they should be, so make sure you leave thoughtful and helpful answers and only leave your link if it is helpful to the question asked.

To get the most traffic you should try and be first to answer. If you leave a quality answer you may get chosen as best answer and should get more traffic as well.

Some people earn a part time affiliate income through this method alone. There are also people who set up two, or more accounts and ask and answer their own questions. That way they can be the first to answer and choose their answer as best answer. This is an effective way to do things, but I do not wish to risk it.

There is software out there that will provide proxies, so that you never get found out and allows you to automate your Yahoo Answers, but this is definitely a black hat method and not something I am interested in.

The problem with this software is that it will increase spam to Yahoo Answers, which is something we don’t need. If you want to find recently asked questions in your niche, just sign up for the RSS feed for free. That way you don’t have to resort to spamming or black hat methods and it’s free.

I Love Nichebot - Check It Out

Thursday, October 23rd, 2008

About a week ago I signed up for a $1 trial with Nichebot. I didn’t think I would stick it out, but now I am addicted. It is like a more sophisticated version of Wordtracker,  but has so many more features and is really easy to use. It has loads of tools all in one easy to use interface.

Nichebot is a keyword and niche tool and an affiliate marketers dream.  It has many features that have increased visitors to my website in only a week. It can be used to find a niche, if you are just starting out. It can also be used to give you ideas on popular topics with least competition to write about on your blog/website.

You can also use Nichebot to create a killer Google Adwords campaign, making it fantastic fot instant affiliate profits. It has a feature where there is a jackpot sign when you find a keyword that has 0 competition. These are the best key words to focus on and it is really exciting when you find one in your niche. I am excited as Google Adwords has always cost me a fortune and the results have been poor in the past. With this tool I have been able to find incredibly cheap and high performing key words which have turned my Google Adwords campaigns around and saved me a lot of money.

Nichebot can also be used to spot current live trends, which are updated hourly. That way you can blog about what people are searching for right now. Again this has the jackpot feature to show you how much competition you would have.

There is a PDF manual and videos to show you how to use all the Nichebot features, although I must admit I muddled through and worked it out myself. I love how I can find the top 500 results in any niche with all the competition and popularity listings.

I don’t usually rave about a product, but NIchebot has wowed me. I am so used to being scammed, I wasn’t ready for something useful, that does what it says it will. I have read on forums that it has increased page rank and traffic of websites within weeks. It can be used for both organic and paid search results. I wish I had this tool when I first started blogging.

Click here to check out Nichebot and finally get great search engine results and more traffic.

CBProAds Up and Running

Monday, October 20th, 2008

After being down for about a week the CBProAds site is up and running again and the ads seem to be quicker and cleaner. Of course this is a good thing, but I wish the company had been more up front with us before they took the site down.

CBProAds have since sent an email to members:

Hello,

We had a process of changing data centers to improve the overall performance
of our hosting architecture in the last few days.We take the responsibility
of hosting your Web site very seriously and deeply regret this interruption
in service.

At this point, we have restored all of the sites, and have confirmed that they are working properly.

We apologize for any inconvenience.

If you have any questions or concerns about this down time, please write to admin@CBproads.com.

I have decided to give them another chance, after all CBProAds have been performing well for me and has increased my website revenue. I appreciate that they have emailed everyone now, even though they should have done it before.

Wordtracker Review

Thursday, October 16th, 2008

I have just signed up for a 7 day free trial of Wordtracker. Wordtracker is a tool that you an use to research keywords. It is great if you use Adwords campaigns, or even if you want to find out the best things to blog about, what people are searching for and what keywords have the least competition.

I started using Wordtracker straight away as I want to make the most of the Free Trial. The Free Trial has no restrictions, so I used the Full Search tool. It was really easy to use and incredibly useful. It gave me words and phrases I had not even thought about before to do with my niche.

The other thing you can use Wordtracker for, is if you are planning to start a website with the aim of making money. Using Wordtracker you can research what niche will be the most profitable. You can check how many people search for keywords in your niche and how much competition you will have. This could mean the difference between failure and success online.

Wordtracker also allows you to see the most popular keywords, both long term and short term. So far, i have found it very easy to use Wordtracker and have found it really useful. It is definitely worth signing up for the free trial.

They also have a referral program, so if you have a blog or website you may be interested in making some extra money by referring others to Wordtracker.

Google Slapped

Monday, October 13th, 2008

Well I did enjoy these last couple of weeks when MissGullible was PR2, but today I have logged on after having a weekend offline and I’ve slid to PR1 again. How frustrating!

Sometimes it is hard to understand Google Page Ranks. I have more quality back links pointing to my site and more visitors than when I was PR2. I have heard that for mentioning terms like PTC and HYIP you can get slapped down by Google. They assume you are a scammer I guess.

Oh well, back to the drawing board. My Alexa rating is still gradually going down, so I haven’t lost out there yet. I guess with so many webmasters using Black Hat techniques and trying to get around Google’s rules, some legitimate publishers will lose out as well, as Google fights back.

Who Can Afford Blogads?

Sunday, October 5th, 2008

One of my favourite A list bloggers is Perez Hilton. His gorgeous, girly pink, bitchy celebrity blog was what got me interested in blogging in the first place. If you own a blog like that you are looking at making serious money on advertising. You can buy advertising on Perezhilton.com and other A list blogs at Blogads.

People who have advertised on these blogs have seen their businesses boom literally overnight. Sometimes the advertising space is used to promote movies and TV shows, but other times businesses and websites buy the space.

Perez Hilton is the number one earning blog on Blogads and in one week you ad would get an estimated 53,697,751 impressions. The price for one weeks advertising in the top spot is $54,000 (US). I can’t even comprehend that!

Of course Blogads represents some lower level blogs as well and these have much lower price tags, but it is fair to say that Blogads represents the top A list blogs and it really gives you an idea of how  much these top bloggers earn.

Perez Hilton no longer just blogs about celebrities. He is a celebrity himself. His dynamic personality and amazing talent for self promotion have really paid off. I was watching Celebrity Cribs last night on MTV and Perez Hilton was showing us around his Hollywood apartment. His apartment was actually pretty modest considering the money he makes and his dog Teddy is the most gorgeous little one I have ever seen. Showing us into his dressing room, Perez says, start a blog and you can have this too. If only it were that simple.

Perez works up to 16 hours a day on his blog and i guess it shows the amount of hard work, luck and talent  you need to make it as an A list blogger. If you need a blogging idol you could do worse than Perez Hilton.
