Amazon Paid Me

On one of my pet sites I decided to create an Amazon associates shop. It seemed like a good option as there were so many products that I could promote and my website was for a niche area, so it would be reasonably easy to promote.
The main problem with Amazon Associates is that the commission starts at only 4%. That really isn’t much and it takes quite some time to add up, if you have a small website like mine. The commission does go up the more products you sell, but it resets the next month, so it is very hard to make much money.
I got very excited each time a product was sold even though it only meant I would make about $0.50, if that! Over time I have made $50. Amazon requires that you make $100 to be paid by cheque, plus there is a $15 admin fee. To be paid by Direct Debit you only need to make $10, but you have to live in the USA. So I have decided to go for the Amazon voucher. That way I get emailed the voucher straight away and can spend it on anything on Amazon.com. This is not too bad, as I do love books.
Perhaps it would be better if I promoted a Clickbank pet related product on my website. The thing is I can’t help feel that Clickbank products are sometimes scams. I also provide a lot of information on my website, so there may not be any need for visitors to purchase a Clickbank book for more information. Hmmm I will have to think about this. I definitely need to find a better way to monetize my website. I have a lot of satisfied visitors emailing me and asking questions, but no money!
